Some examples of hybrid installations:
Austria: Victron high up in the mountains
This phone mast in Austria is placed high on a mountain, where is no connection to the grid. Therefore, the phone mast was fully depending on a generator. Some disadvantages of a generator are the high costs of fuel, the noise and the air pollution. A perfect solution to solve these problems is a hybrid system. Instead of running the generator 24/7 at low load it will run short periods at high load to charge the battery bank. The telecom equipment is powered from the batteries when the generator is switched off. Wolfgang Pirker Electrotechnik and Victron Energy collaborated to design a system which reduced the use of the generator enormously. The installation consists of 3 MultiPlus 48/3000 units and 3 Skylla 48/50 units, in a 3-phase configuration. Before the hybrid installation, the noisy generator was working 24 hours a day. With the equipment of Victron, the phone mast can function for 5 days without the use of the generator. The generator will start automatically to charge the batteries.

Doua intrari de CA cu un comutator de transfer integrat Quattro poate fi conectat la doua surse independente de CA, de exemplu o sursa de pe uscat si un generator sau doua generatoare. Quattro se va conecta automat la sursa activa.

În plus faţă de ieşirea de tensiune continuă standard, o ieşire auxiliară este disponibilă, care deconectează sarcina conectată în timpul funcţionării bateriei. Este, de exemplu, soluţia perfectă pentru a preveni un încălzitor de apă electric să vă descarce bateria.
